so yesterday i started feeling better. jared and i decided to go mow the lawn or "vacuum the lawn" as jared said. husband did the weed wacking while i mowed the lawn - gracefully of course. i wore sandals. my feet turned green. the weather was perfect. (it always is amazing right before a storm hits)
we relaxed the rest of the afternoon and into the evening watching the nba playoffs and the new "office". of course jared was so tired from being up to catch a flight home at 4am and was ready to go to bed for the night.
(and here is where the real wife of the year moment begins...)
i decided 10pm was a good time to clean the water filter out of our washer and then start a cleaning cycle. well 2 minutes after i start the cycle and walk to the kitchen to get jared a drink i hear water raining down in our basement (mind you we just finished painting half of the basement). jared runs down to check what is happening and i realize - i didn't screw the filter cover back all the way onto the washer and that's where the water is exploding from. yes - i flooded our laundry room in a short 2 minutes... and the water was luckily falling on the side of the basement we hadn't finished right by the drain in our water heater room. the water seeped into our closet and the front closet. oops. we dried up everything we could and pulled everything away from the walls so that the carpet can dry.
i've got the carpet cleaners coming
yet again today. these guys are becoming my homies. i'm gonna have them clean up vomit that the poor child didn't make into the bathroom but onto the freshly cleaned carpet. hopefully they will have some advice about the damp carpet in areas of the house from my flooding experience.
i'm lucky my husband is so amazing and loves me regardless of my disaster. he's the cutest and sweetest. and i love him so very much. luckiest lady alive - that's for sure.
